Callistomen Canes Hybrid

One of the finest of all Callistemons, 'Cane's Hybrid' (Cane's Bottlebrush) is a Koala Blooms University of California Santa Cruz 2002 Plant Introduction.  This fast growing evergreen shrub or small tree rapidly grows to 10 feet tall by 15 feet wide, but is easily kept smaller. The pastel pink bottlebrush type flowers, the fine, narrow green gray leaves on arching branches, and the young foliage, soft and tinged with pink, give this plant a definitively feminine aspect to the plant not present in the other Callistemon varieties. It is extremely drought tolerant once established and responds well to pruning. It is frost hardy to at least 20°F and is an excellent plant for screening, as a wind break or for hedging, even near the beach where it endures salt laden wind.
