Ice Cream Banana

This fruiting variety of Banana is more cold tolerant than most and will form pups freely from the base. It will form a stand of half a dozen large plants measuring around 4 meters tall. A single plant can be achieved by pruning off the unwanted pups. Fruit is formed on second year plants. Musa “Ice Cream” will go deciduous in the winter when temperatures go below freezing and will leaf-out again in spring with the warmer temperatures. This Musa variety, like most, fruits and grows best in full sun w/ some protection from frost and wind and with regular, deep waterings. We sell this rare beauty in one gallon containers.
