Cuphea cyanea

This was one tough plant to propagate! We collected seeds from this little beauty in southern Mexico and also took some cuttings. None of the seeds germinated! We don’t know why but we were able to propagate using cuttings. This is the most colorful of all Cupheas and is amazingly hard-to-find! This plant blooms like mad exploding with hundreds of diminutive blooms from spring till frost and is evergreen in mild climates. This plant is an easy-to-grow perennial for full sun to part shade and is attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. It is hardy from zone 9 and grows to 2 feet tall and wide. It prefers rich, well-drained soil. Mature plant in a Quart container $22.00.
