Sugar Cane Palm

The seeds we collected from this palm on our trip to Madagascar were about the only items we left with. All of our gear was stolen at the airport. Sixteen bags completely vanished! This palm was worth it though! It is an incredibly attractive palm exhibiting wonderful colors on the crown shaft and an amazing ringed trunk. It grows extremely well in Southern California and is particularly adaptable, doing well in shade, sun, and even indoors. Though it can be fairly drought tolerant, it does a lot better if given plenty of water with good drainage. It can handle pretty hot sun.
